Who We Are

One of the Nation’s First Business Incubators, Ventureprise Expands to Become So Much More

Ventureprise began life over 25 years ago as the Ben Craig Center, Inc., a University backed business incubator, and, in 2012, took on the expanded mission of leading entrepreneurial innovation across the Charlotte region. Through the creation of an innovation strategy and the formalization of an entrepreneurship ecosystem, Ventureprise is a catalyst for connecting entrepreneurs, community resources, university researchers, funding partners, government agencies, business mentors and education partners.

PORTAL-interior.jpgFrom 1986-2011, the Ben Craig Center served 125 client-tenants, and is currently undergoing a transformation that includes the recent addition of a student incubator and the construction of a $37 million facility on the UNC Charlotte campus that will provide 25,000 square feet of space to house Ventureprise’s new innovation center beginning in 2014.

Ventureprise Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation, governed by an independent board of directors, and funded by UNC Charlotte  and client fees.
